Preparing your body for pregnancy is like hosting the most important house guest of your life. There are many things that you can do to help your body function at an optimal level and the best part is that you're in control.
With the rates of infertility on the rise, currently 1 in 6 couples will experience some issues trying to conceive. In Canada 11.7% to 15.7% of the population have encountered difficulties and this number has doubled since the early 1980's.
With some of the difficulties related to infertility caused by health issues which some may not have control, there are many lifestyle factors that we can control.
The major lifestyle variables related to infertility are smoking, poor nutrition, being overweight or underweight and alcohol consumption.
Our current lifestyle can be seen as stressful, busy and an increase of toxic load including our food sources, relationships, work/life balance and even our electronics. We typically spend less time outside and live a more processed life.
Overwhelming? Yes.
Able to change? Yes.
Modifying your lifestyle and achieving a balance can create a more hospitable environment for conception. There are certain nutrients and dietary needs, sleep, stress reduction techniques, bodily movement and toxic load reduction variables that come into play to enhance your bodies function.
There's also topics such as body temperature, tracking your cycle and sperm health with the male diet that are also important when trying to achieve balance and better health.
Ditch the tighty whities.
In our Pregnancy Prep workshop, we delve into these topics with detail in how to create health. We discuss everything from gut health and artificial sweeteners to relationship dynamics and epigenetics.
